  • Samantha Parr, Founder

    Samantha is a senior in high school and is the founder of Dancer for Dancer. She is a ballet dancer from San Francisco, California. Samantha has attended the Pacific Northwest Ballet and Ballet West summer intensives, and has participated in the Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition. She's been doing ballet since she was three years old, but has also done contemporary, tap, and enjoys samba dancing. In addition to ballet, she loves to write and is an editor for her school newspaper. When she’s not swamped with schoolwork or doing ballet, Samantha loves to go on runs, try out new vegan recipes, and work on Dancer for Dancer!

  • Emma Neilson, Pal Program Director

    Emma Neilson has been dancing for 7 years, starting when she was 13. She quickly fell in love with it, and started studying ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, and contemporary recreationally. After graduating from Shoreline Community College with her AA in Psychology at 17, she decided to take a gap year. During this year, she discovered how big of a role dance had played in her life, and returned to dance in the hopes of pursuing a professional career. After attending her first summer programs in 2019, she then started dancing year-round at International Ballet Academy in Bellevue, Washington. She is currently training in their Professional Division. In addition to this, Emma is also a Certified American Barre Technique Instructor and a Certified Flexistretcher Instructor. She works part time at Dancewear Center in Kirkland, WA helping people to find their favorite dance attire and fitting pointe shoes and is also a current ambassador for To The Pointe Nutrition. Emma hopes to help the D4D team and mission grow and expand to continue to help all dancers feel less alone and supported no matter what.

  • Jade England, Director of Virtual Events

    My name is Jade England. I am 19 years old and I live in Malta. I have been dancing since I was 3 1/2 years old. I currently dance at the Alison White Dance Studio and practice aerial hoop at Malta Aerial Arts.

  • Shannon Lynch, Social Media Director

    hi!! my name is shannon and i am 17 years old! i have done dance since i was 2 years old. my favorite style is jazz and when i am older i want to be a psychologist!

  • Shubhi Verma, Director of International Relations

    Hi there :) I’m from India and I’m managing the international relations at D4D! I currently train in commercial and jazz funk! Fun fact about me: I absolutely love workshop culture. They are incredibly fun and personally an exhilarating challenge each time. The chances of you catching me at a jazz funk workshop are very likely! :D

  • Mallory Miller, Outreach Director

    Mallory Miller is an Arts Manager with experience in non-profit and events. She approaches her work at Washington, DC's Shakespeare Theatre Company with tenacity and joy. Mallory joined Dance for Dancer to support mental health awareness in the dance community. She holds a BA from Butler University, where she studied journalism & dance, and is currently pursuing Arts Management graduate studies.

  • McKaia Spangenberg, Assistant Executive Director

    Hi! My name is Mckaia and I am so excited to be the Assistant Director for Dancer for Dancer! I have been dancing since 9 years old and trained mostly in ballet and contemporary. I have so many ideas for the programs and can’t wait to work with Samantha to involve Dancer for Dancer in the dance community!

  • Emily Albright, Pal Program Coordinator

    Hi! My name is Emily and I’m 21 years old. I will be a junior at the University of Montana and will be pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance. I didn’t begin formal dance training until college and it is now a part of who I am. My dream is to make it on the Broadway stage and to inspire others to follow their dreams and reach for the stars.

  • Kat Walsh, Pal Program Coordinator

    In the last 22 years I have trained in Ballet, tap, Jazz, and Contemporary. I trained at a couple different studios located in the Northern California area... I started college at Brigham Young University of Idaho as a Dance major. I had the opportunity to do My senior Capstone project on Dancer’s that struggle with Body Image and Eating Disorders. Mental Health is a huge passion of mine and is why I chose to research the subject. My research has taught me about what it means to teach dancers about body positivity in the dance world. As an Eating Disorder Recovery activist and Dance educator, it’s my goal to help create a space to create body positivity in dance. I graduated with My B.A in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in Dance education and a minor in Health Psychology. I have been teaching dance at different studios for the past three years. Now I am a full time dance teacher and choreographer in the Bay Area. I love my students and I’m passionate about what I do. I’m very excited to be a part of the Dancer for Dancer program and I’m hoping to help make a difference in the dance world.

  • Margaret Wheby, Pal Program Coordinator

    Hi! I’m Margaret Wheby! I’m 17 and from North Carolina. I started ballet when I was 3 years old, and began pointe work when I was 11. When I’m not in the studio you can find me reading, baking, or playing golf. Dancing has been such an influential part of my life and I’m so excited to share that through D4D!

  • Emerson Williams, Graphic Designer

    Hey y’all!! My name is Emerson and I am from the Dallas, Texas area! I am currently a competitive dancer and I have been dancing for 12 years. My favorite style is contemporary and jazz. I am currently a high school student and I am also on drill team. I absolutely love dance and hand lettering! So excited to be apart of the D4D team!!

  • Toma Kopicaite, Content Writer

    Hi! My name is Toma and I’ve been dancing for 9 years. My main area is Lithuanian folklore dance. I’m a freshman at high school and I’m a part of my city’s Cultural centre’s folklore dance group. In my free time I like playing piano, writing, acting, reading or just spending my time on Netflix. Being a part of D4D team means a lot to me, and I’m really grateful for this opportunity!
